Sustainable Universe Cap.08_T5 Will beekeeping save biodiversity?
In addition to producing honey, the natural sweetener par excellence, and the other products that we obtain directly from the hives, bees play an even more important role, both for the conservation of biodiversity and for human nutrition. The importance of bees both for the sustainability of the environment and for the economy make scientific research essential to better understand their way of life and the dangers they face. Although for nature the importance of pollination is much higher than that of beekeeping, who knows if it will be beekeeping itself, the domesticated bee, that saves the pollination exercised by wild species in danger of extinction.
