The skin is a constantly changing organ, which not only protects us from the environment, but also relates us to our environment. It is also a producer of melanin, a temperature regulator and an activator of vitamin D. As we age, the skin loses volume and density, which gives it a less toned and wrinkled appearance. However, lifestyle and excessive sun exposure affect our natural production of collagen and elastin, causing premature aging. Prevention is key to avoiding the development of diseases such as skin cancer, which has a high prevalence in our society. More than 13 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year.
