Lecture by Professor Alfons Martinell Sempere, co-director of the UNESCO Pau Casals Chair in Barcelona, entitled "Educating in cultural rights: from declarations to practices". And subsequent debate with the public moderated by Raúl Abeledo Sanchis, head of initiatives at the Cultural Observatory of the University of Valencia. In a context in which cultural rights remain relevant due to different circumstances and realities, a reflection is proposed on their incorporation into the foundation of cultural policies at different scales. Delving deeper into their contents, after decades of a certain passivity within the human rights system, is a need that demands much more than great eloquent declarations. Cultural agents and services demand more concreteness from the valorization of what they are doing, towards new approaches to incorporate into practice in the day-to-day of cultural management. In this approach, the UNESCO Pau Casals Chair has proposed a reflection on the educational potential of cultural services and facilities with this purpose as a strategy for approaching new practices.
