Ch. 27: LINE, LIGHT, COLOR: The Comics of Miguel Calatayud

The exhibition *Line, Light, Color* places the comic book work of Miguel Calatayud (Asp, 1942)—an illustrator and comic artist who has been a pioneer and avant-garde figure in Spanish comics—into context. His early works, which appeared in the magazine *Trinca* in the early 1970s, masterfully incorporated the language of Pop Art and the modernity arriving from Europe, breaking the mold and defying tradition to discover new narrative forms through line and color.
