On Friday, May 22, the University of Valencia paid tribute to Joan Baptista Peset Aleixandre to mark the 85th anniversary of his execution by firing squad under the Franco regime. The event, held this morning in the Cloister of the La Nau Cultural Centre, brought together academic and political representatives, family members—Carmina and José Luis—and memory advocacy groups to honor the legacy of the man who served as the university's rector from 1932 to 1934 and was one of the most prominent figures in 20th-century Valencian medicine.
