Emotions are part of our daily lives, but for a time they were left off the map of science. In recent years, thanks to new neuroimaging techniques, the neuroscientific approach to emotions has undergone great development: functions of the brain have been discovered, as well as the neurocognitive dynamics of some disorders and emotions. Neuroscientific research allows us to understand the different neurocognitive mechanisms underlying human behavior such as motivation, learning, problem solving and any decision-making process.
