Just take a walk along any beach to see it. Plastic everywhere; in the air, on the ice, in the sea, both on the surface and on the seabed, from north to south of the planet. These tiny particles pose a problem of gigantic dimensions. Their size means that they can easily enter the food chain, but most of the studies are in the early stages and the consequences of ingesting them are not yet known. In Spanish universities, different aspects are investigated that can contribute to solving the disaster.
