Lately we have experienced extreme phenomena related to extreme cold and heat waves, floods and even large fires. The role of climate change in all of them is key, as is the university research that is carried out to mitigate the effects of all these phenomena that can worsen over the years. The predictions made in the research projects are intended to generate simulated situations to contribute to the management of possible natural disasters. Although damage cannot be avoided, it can be minimized thanks to good foresight. The study of how natural phenomena work together with good policies in management, education and awareness of the effects of climate change, will be the key to achieving a better coexistence between humans and nature.
